Why I Added Skin Taping to My Botox Routine

I started getting Botox at 24. At the time, I was constantly told it was preventative and a way to stop fine lines and wrinkles from forming in the first place. Now that I’m in my 30s, I still love the results Botox gives me, but I’ve also been craving more longevity in my skin routine. That’s where skin taping comes in.

While Botox works beneath the surface by relaxing the muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles, skin taping focuses on improving circulation, supporting collagen production, and encouraging natural glow from the outside. Together, they complement each other beautifully.

  • Boosts circulation: Gentle tapping helps bring blood flow to the skin, which can improve tone and radiance.

  • Supports lymphatic drainage: Regular tapping can reduce puffiness and help your skin look more refreshed.

  • Encourages collagen activity: While it’s not a miracle worker, tapping may help stimulate the skin’s natural repair process, adding firmness over time.

  • Complements Botox results: By keeping the skin healthy and resilient, skin tapping can support and even extend the benefits of Botox.

For me, skin taping is an easy, low-cost way to take better care of my skin in between Botox appointments. It’s simple, it’s gentle, and it gives me that little extra longevity I’ve been looking for as I move through my 30s.

A Note on Neurotoxins

I know the word “neurotoxin” can make people pause; it definitely made me nervous when I first started getting Botox. But after doing my own research, I’ve learned that while Botox is derived from a neurotoxin, it’s used in such tiny, controlled doses that it’s considered safe in the hands of a trained injector.

For me, I’ve never had any issues from Botox or filler. It’s always been something that makes me feel confident and, honestly, a little more like myself. Adding skin taping into my routine just feels like an extra step toward longevity; keeping my skin healthy and supported in between appointments.

Shoutout to Teniele at Morphology Aesthetics & Laser - she has done the best work with my injectables and is always honest and open about what can help my skin.

At the end of the day, skincare is so personal. What works for me might not be for everyone, and that’s okay. Whether you’re all in on Botox, curious about skin taping, or sticking to the basics, the most important thing is finding what makes you feel good in your own skin.

Your skin, your choice.
